Patience Karsten, ARNP

FOUNDER OF WIHNF & OASIS HEALOGY CLINIC

The WA Integrated Health Network Foundation (WIHNF) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization established to fill a critical healthcare gap in Yakima County — providing transitional rehabilitation and wound care close to home.

Our facility offers 10–12 inpatient rehabilitation beds, serving approximately 120 patients per year with advanced wound care, therapy, and recovery services.

By bridging the transition between acute hospital care and home recovery, WIHNF reduces readmissions, shortens hospital stays, and improves overall outcomes for medically complex patients.

Founded by Patience Karsten, a healthcare leader with over a decade of experience in clinical operations and community health, WIHNF partners with Oasis Healogy, local hospitals, and community organizations to expand access and deliver equitable care.

OUR MISSION

Our mission is to bridge the critical gap between hospital discharge and full recovery. We provide specialized inpatient rehabilitation and wound care designed to restore health, mobility, and confidence. Through compassionate, patient-centered care, we help individuals rebuild their strength and return to a fulfilling life within their community.

OUR VISION

We envision a healthier Yakima where every resident has access to high-quality rehabilitation and recovery care — without having to travel far from home. Our goal is to create a trusted community hub that promotes healing, hope, and long-term wellness for all, regardless of background or circumstance.

OUR VALUES

We believe in compassion, integrity, excellence, accessibility, and education — treating every patient with empathy and respect, upholding the highest ethical standards, striving for exceptional care, ensuring access for all, and empowering our community through knowledge and support.

OUR IMPACT

Yakima County faces high hospital readmission rates and limited access to short-term rehabilitation, particularly for patients discharged from acute-care hospitals without adequate recovery support. WIHNF will serve as a bridge facility, ensuring continuity of care, early intervention, and reduced strain on hospital systems.
